I’m so happy to share this autumn engagement shoot at Malibu Creek State Park! It was a crazy day, but I’m so happy with how they turned out.

Joe and Olivia met at a friend’s wedding over 5 years ago – both of them were in the bridal party. While on a road trip to Wisconsin, they visited Zion National Park and during their sunrise hike to the Emerald Pools, Joe so sweetly proposed on bended knee to Olivia. They spent the rest of their week-long trip as a newly engaged couple. How sweet is that?! Bliss! They’re a very adventurous couple who love to travel and it sounds like their future together will be nothing short of memorable road trips and escapades in their sprinter van!

They drove all the way up from Dana Point to Malibu Canyon for this shoot, so I definitely wanted to make sure they walked away with great shots. It’s fall now, and the sun disappears a lot sooner and faster than it does in the summer and we had to act fast! Olivia is also a photographer so the pressure was sort of on! However, at the same time, she totally understood posing and lighting tips :0) Joe is the brother of an awesome friend of ours, so I already knew this day was going to fun.

This park is unfortunately high risk for wildfires and was recently actually on fire in some spots around the area. I believe this tree (below) at one point partially caught on fire but thankfully it survived.

It was such a fun afternoon meeting these two and capturing these shots. They were both so easy and natural at it, and I just LOVED their outfits! Nailed it!
