So excited to share this gorgeous rustic Topanga Canyon wedding at The 1909 in Topanga, California! Kristi and Tyler are so great. I finally got to meet them about a month before their wedding for their engagement shoot. They had just moved to Los Angeles from Portland, Oregon, and had a young baby boy in tow, little Jordan – who, by the way, is INSANELY handsome!

I feel so fortunate to book couples who I feel are “my people” and I just vibe with. I love it! I live for it. I immediately felt that upon talking to Tyler’s mother, Shelly, about booking this event. She was so awesome to chat with. As soon as we hung up, I was like “Oh heck yes, I’m so happy this is happening!” Then the day came when I got to finally meet the bride and groom in person in Malibu for their engagement session. A bonus was meeting their 3-month old son, Jordan, and Kristi’s awesome sister. They were both so easy to work with and just had amazing chemistry so I knew the wedding day was going to be fun.

Their big day was on a very warm summer day in June in Topanga Canyon, which is Malibu Canyon-adjacent – a place that gets VERY hot in the summer months, despite being very close to the coast, but hidden by the large hills. It’s a gorgeous place to be and it’s considered wedding and wine country for northern Los Angeles. A venue like The 1909 is a no-brainer for a beautiful, intimate rustic chic wedding, big or small!

Kristi and Tyler were surrounded by their nearest and dearest on this day, keeping the guest list relatively moderate as we’re still slowly crawling out of the pandemic. Wearing a mask in 90º+ heat outdoors is TOUGH, I’ve gotta admit. Literally not for the faint of heart. However, I am SO not mad at absolutely stunning this wedding came out! I’m pleased to finally show this off! Congratulations, Kristi and Tyler! -And baby Jordan!!!
