Ok, yay, here we go! Tiffany & Jason’s Malibu & Point Dume Engagement Session!

So Jason and Tiffany are a total Hinge success story! How cool is that?! It’s not often I find couples who met on a dating app and found their “one”. If anyone out there is thinking dating apps are a waste of time, well, that may not always be the case.

Upon the inital getting-to-know-you email with Tiffany, I could just TELL that we immediately vibed. When you know, you know! Ha! Like, HOW have we never met before?! We’re totally cut from the same cloth and share the same giddy personality. Oh, and they both love mezcal. MEANT TO BE!

Tiffany and Jason actaully live in Washington D.C. and flew out to California because Tiffany is from San Diego and they’re having their wedding in Los Angeles and had some wedding planning business to attend to so I finally got to meet these two here so we could do their engagement shoot! The moment I met Tiffany, I felt like I knew her my whole life! #sisterfromanothermister

These two are SO much fun and their instant chemistry is just undeniable. That’s the thing that’s so wonderful about chemistry – we either have it with some people, or we dont. You can’t fake it, you can’t force it. It’s just there or it isn’t. And when it is, the flow just flows. That’s one of the best things about being a human – finding a fellow human who share those connections with, whether romantically or platonically. And yes, this makes posing these types of couples just oh-so-effortless! I didn’t even have to give much direction, they just loved on each other and it was so amazing and fun to capture. All that cute you see together – that’s all them, not me! xo

We started the day off shooting at Malibu Creek State Park, one of my favorite places to shoot. Everything here is just so GLOWY and golden! It’s my go-to spots for many things, especially hikes and horseback riding.

After Malibu Creek State Park, we made our way to our second destination, which was Point Dume. Originally, the plan was to shoot on top of the peak there with the ocean in the background, but upon arriving, we noticed how completely foggy it was and that the water was actually not visible at all! Oops, we forgot to check the coastal weather, but that didn’t even occur to us since everywhere else in LA was HOT AND SUNNY! I convinced them this was a good thing, because at least it provided us with a soft neutral color palette and their pops of blue clothing worked well with those tones. Also pretty cool to get to shoot in two different elements in the same day in the same region! We ended up walking down to the water just get some shots with the actual ocean in it. I’m quite happy with these turned out!!!

I just love these two and I cannot wait to shoot their wedding next year. I also can’t wait to visit them in DC in a few weeks. AH!
